People gave us skins of sacrificed animals as an help for the association in muslim festival of sacrifices. We sold the skin to make a contribution to the budget of our association. Then we bought three fire extinguisher. We put them different places of the neighbourhood. We wish our residents to be able to estinguish possible fires. These precautions made possible to distinguish there fire danger before spreading of the fire. We have always kept fire extinguishers ready.
Our resident were used to get on two bus to go to the closer hospital for any kind of illness. It was a big problem for them to find any medicine. We visited health board and said them we needed a health care center. They promised us to establish a health care center if we found any suitable place. Then we went to municipality to ask for a place for the health care center. We offered them a suitable place close to our neighbourhood. They said us that they would examine the place to be suitable or not. A few months later, we started to feel that we were losing too much time. Then we went to parliamentarian Mehmet Çebi to introduce the situation. He said: "Friends, I promise you for a health care center." The health care center was builded in two years. The building is demolished by the municipality in 2003 due to be unhealthy. The health care center were moved to an other place. And now it's turned to a health house with family practice project.
There would be a wedding of one our residents. He came and ask us for money. He asked us to borrow money for the wedding. He promised to pay it back. He was a poor person. We gave him some money for the wedding. However we were shocked when we saw the wedding. It was splendent. He paid us first payment of his debt. Then he always had some excuse not to pay it. The words came to our ears were prosy. We were obligated to close our association because of some tactless people. We had never hoped support anybody. But it was unacceptable for us to be defined as schlemiel.
Long years have passed. Municipalities are still organizing circumcision festivals which we organized first. Municipalities are making food aid for poor people as we did before with our own possibilities. We are still supporting our poor and ill friends. We are still helping funeral homes. We are brothers and sisters. We are relatives. We are together for better or worse. We will continue to do something for our people although we lost Koçali and Amo Papu. We love our neighbourhood.
